About the event
Yoga for Men is a 4 week series designed specifically for men new to yoga, or looking to get back to your practice. The series will help you learn the basics of yoga in a friendly, non-intimidating environment that's guy-friendly. The postures include modifications for guys who are inflexible. Focus is on alignment for the male body, increasing flexibility, being comfortable in any yoga class, adding yoga poses to your current workout routine, and stress reduction. Chris has gathered a unique set of skills and tools that have the potential to help you make sense of your consciousness journey. After almost 30 years of working as a financial advisor and CFP®, Chris closed his financial planning firm and now helps people to heal their mind, body and spirit through teaching about the Enneagram, Yoga, Qigong and Meditation. As we learn to accept and integrate all aspects of our self, we move closer to our true Self.
For most of my yoga experience over the last decade, I was the only male in class. Yoga makes such a positive difference in my life, I wondered why men seem to avoid going to yoga. I heard many times, "I'm not flexible enough to do yoga. Besides, only women go to yoga classes, right?" I answer with a resounding "NO!" Yoga is for every body, men's bodies included.
So, put away your preconceived notions of what yoga is or is not. Touching your toes is not the goal of yoga. Getting in shape is not the goal of yoga, although both of these can happen. The goal is to have no goal and simply BE in your body as it is showing up on any given day, warts and all!
Join me for 4 weeks and learn what yoga really is all about; learn what you are all about; learn how nice it feels to mindfully move your body. Byproducts of consistent practice will be a stronger, more flexible body and greater connection between your mind, body and spirit.
